Origin Story
Wendy Wagner has always been drawn to objects that hold stories. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Drawing and Painting from San Francisco State University, she stepped into the fashion world as a textile designer and creative team leader, a path that carried her across the globe in search of beauty and inspiration. Her favorite discoveries were never in glossy showrooms but in the winding aisles of foreign flea markets, where cabinets brimmed with timeworn treasures and rare oddities.
Among these objects, worn smooth by countless hands, she found fragments of personal histories. Each one a tiny time capsule of sentiment and memory. It was there her passion for jewelry was sparked — not for decoration, but for objects that carry meaning in a form worn close.
In 2014 she founded The Sacred Order as a curated collection of antiques, each chosen for its symbolic depth, emotional resonance, and enduring beauty. Over time the collection grew to include her own original fine jewelry designs, pieces deeply inspired by antique finds and the timeless symbols they carry. Nothing casual or disposable. Every piece with a history, a meaning, a reason it was made or found.
The Sacred Order exists for the collector. The person who goes deep into what they love, who builds something over time that tells their whole story, who wants what they wear to mean something.
Wendy is based in Sonoma County, where she continues to draw inspiration from antiques, sacred symbols, and the world around her. She shares her life with her talented partner, their spirited son, and a grumpy-faced dog.
